Alexander Wang, who is of Taiwanese descent, was born in California and moved to New York to attend The Parsons School of Design. He dropped out in his second year in order to design his own line. His business expanded rapidly and he has loyal fans who blog about his work. His line of casual downtown cool takes its inspiration from the 1990s minimalism movement.
