Alessandro Michele is the newly appointed creative director of Gucci. Michele has worked as part of the Gucci brand’s design team since 2002. Michele created pieces with a vintage feel – flowy ’70s-inspired dresses and silk blouses tied at the the neck with a bow for his first collection, as well as coats and tailored trouser suits. He says that he was “trying to interpret an attitude, not a silhouette, through a perspective that blurs the masculine/feminine divide and champions the youthful energy and confidence of today’s urbanites.”
