Fashion designer Geoffrey Beene (nee` Samuel Albert Bozeman, Jr.), studied fashion in New York and Paris. Geoffrey Beene was famous his artistic talent and for creating comfortable and simple women’s wear. His former apprentices, Kay Unger, Alber Elbaz and Doo Ri Chung are now successful fashion designers. Geoffrey Beene was the recipient of eight Coty awards in his career before passing away in 2004.
